Card show card values?

Ive been seeing some tiktok videos lately of card shows and some of the negotiations that go on. I see a lot of buyers/sellers refer to "comps" when deciding what dollar amount to go with.

What app/website are they all using to get these comps from? It doesn't look like they are using ebay sales. But im not sure.

I havent been to a card show in 25+ years. I imagine its a totally different ball game nowadays.

Completed eBay sales and 130 point are the 2 free ones. Card Ladder is the most comprehensive, but I think there is a fee for it.

Maybe its just the videos im seeing, but it seems like slabs are the big attraction these days.

I’ve been doing shows for the last 15 years or so. What I have seen is slabs, HOF autos, vintage, HOF rookies, hot cards, cards that bring back memories (1990 Bo Jackson B&W, Ripken FF, 1991 Jordan baseball SP, etc) all do well at shows. Mostly like any other niche market remembering what the folks you see regularly like is most important.

Slabs make things easier to comp, tend to have a higher sell value and take away the “it looks nice to me” aspect so yes they are a big attraction. But there are still some who avoid them, too.

When looking for comps I usually rely on ebay search clicking on the "Sold" items. The other sites listed by others here are good. I will add a few more below for reference.

sportscardspro.com more of a price guide but worth checking out.

rookiecardprices.com only rookies shows both raw and some graded comps/values.
