Ya no kidding! I've dated 2 or 3 cheerleaders in my younger days and they each swear it's a sport. If the NFL is intentionally not showing them because they're women (except Jacksonville-SMH) I'd say that's discrimination. I believe that falls under Title IX. But, Jacksonville might have ruined any chance of lawsuit because now they can't claim all NFL cheerleaders are female. Florida.... do better!!

I thought it was the Rams and then the Panthers that broke the all female monopoly. The Jags must have joined the trend.

On second thought maybe it is good they don't show the cheerleaders anymore! LMAOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol Google "first male nfl cheerleader" 😂

WOW! Now that is an impressive card!!! I'd love to know what grade that would get.

I;m pretty sure he was the A.D. of Wisconsin for a long time. I think he hired Barry Alverez off of Lou Holtz's Notre Dame staff which was the guy who turned their football program around although I'd have to look that up.

Edit: Hirsch was Wisconsin A.D, from 1969 to 1987 so he did not hire Barry Alverez. I know. I know. Me being wrong about something is a shock to all of you. LMAO!!!!
Eh, you get used to being wrong after awhile....😆😆
I remember seeing a Minnesota v Wisconsin game at the Metrodome in either 94 or 95. The Gophers stunk pretty badly then but Wisconsin had already begun their turnaround. I think the red and white out numbered the maroon and Gold about 10 to 1.

I think the Vikings had at least one this past year also....and rude Packers and cowboys fans reminded me of that last year.

My mother would always correct me to say it's "Cardinal" and white.....the official colors of the Badgers....

Jerry Tubbs could only dream of that.

Now we are on an Elroy Hirsch run. Things are looking up on this thread!
Man, I wish I still had the '50 Bowman Hirsch... or at least have an easy way of finding out what I traded it for! Hopefully one of the '07 National Treasures Irvins!

I was just drawn to this thing.....
The guy played for 15 years for one team... 2 Super Bowls, 2 x All-Pro, HOF.... I'd be drawn to it too!!
And... Football Reference has gone back and watched games and recorded un-official sack stats! Very cool! I'll have to look up Deacon Jones in a bit and see where he ranks... he was always saying he should be the all-time leader....

Well.... they're un-official, but Deacon Jones is 26.5 sacks behind all-time leader, Bruce Smith. Deacon didn't play as long, so his season average (17 game) is higher. 26.5 is potentially 3 good seasons behind Smith. And Smith played 5 more seasons than Jones, so IF Jones had played 19 seasons it's not a far stretch to think he would be the all-time leader... again, these are un-official, but I doubt the people watching for this would miss 27 sacks by Deacon Jones..... so there you go.

I'm pretty sure Deacon is the one who came up with the term sack as well as the now illegal head slap.. What an absolute legend he was!
