Ya, you rarely hear about how he became Chancellor. I've watched plenty of documentaries on it, but always thought he spent his time in Berlin. Apparently he had a crazy schedule flying all over Germany.

Here's a Phillies ticket stub for July 29, 1976. The Phillies beat the Cubs 3-2 in 11 innings. But what is a modern oddity, both starters, Steve Carlton for the Phillies and Rick Reuschel for the Cubs, both pitched 10 innings! Phillies won on a Tim McCarver walk-off single!

Rick Reuschel was a pretty good pitcher. Over 200 W, over 2000 K, 3 time AS, 2 time GG and 12 years with more than 200 IP. No pitchers in today's game will come close to matching that.
Here's a Phillies ticket stub for August 13, 1983 - The Phillies Centennial Year! The Phillies lost to the Cardinals 6-2. There were 5 Hall of Famers playing in this game (Ozzie Smith, Tony Perez, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, and Mike Schmidt) but they combined for only 1 hit - a Pete Rose single in the 4th. Bruce Sutter, a 6th Hall of Famer, pitched a hitless final two innings for the Cardinals.

Sometimes working retail can have it's advantages when it comes to marketing materials. Was just sitting in the liquor department at my current job, so I was like, hey can I have this and the manager said yes.
This was another work pick up, an inflatable blimp for Miller Lite..pardon the messy garage.

I don't remember where I found this, probably at an antique store. I just thought it was pretty neat. I took the pic with light behind it so you could see the "sun stain" left by something sitting on top of the paper, must have been for some time! And you can see the watermark on the sheet if you look closely. P.S. I just looked this up on ebay and they must be scarce... one asking $55, none have been sold... unfortunately mine has the 'sun stain' and what looks like a child's teeth impression on the left edge. Still, pretty cool...

Did the St Paul Pioneer Press know something the rest of us didn't in the Spring of 1987? When the season started they ran a series of "posters" in the paper with the Name of Power Posters. I think there was 9 in total I ended up with 3. I have Puck, Tom Kelly, and Frank Viola. The Puckett and Kelly are signed. Once the West was clinched the ran another series in the fall titled Pennant Fever Posters. 9 also in that set and I have all of them, with the team poster signed by Kent Hrbek. (Hopefully no bitter Braves fans here will make a cheater comment
) This one I got signed the last time I met Kirby at the Twins Winter Caravan in Jan 2001, just after he was elected to the Hall of Fame, in Winona MN.
If The Cowboys can't get a ring at least I can!! 1971 Replica (of course!)

I was at Dodger Stadium for Albert's 700th, but I didn't think to keep the stub.
So, I made this... used a Dremel to cut out the star for the turf to set in. The turf is from the old Cowboys Stadium in Irving. When they changed turf they sold off pieces like this in plastic cases. Me being me, I wanted to feel the turf, so for about 26 years it's been out of any kind of case. Held up pretty well except some of the tips of the star broke off. And lemme tell ya, that turf is THIN! Surprised there weren't more injuries than there were playing on cement with a thin layer of, basically, carpet.
