NICE! You and Scobes hit my Golden Age of Football cards with your posts today George Andrie is the only NFLer I know of that played college football at Marquette. I'm sure there have been others but Marquette was always a basketball school in my memory starting wiith the Al McGuire era.
I WAS gunna post a '69 too but thought I'd hold off for a little bit. And I looked up the players that went to Marquette and there were quite a few, none that I recognized though...

Wow! There were a ton of players from Marquette mostly from the 20sthrough the 40s. THe one player besdies Andrie I recognized was Karl Kassulke who was a starting safety for those great Vikings defenses of the late 60/early 70s. His career was tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. I'll bet Marquettee disbanded their football program shortly after Andrie and Kassulke joined the NFL in 1962 and 1963 since I don't see any from that school after those two guys.Marquette Players/Alumni | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Yup... says they dropped football in 1960 due to financial difficulties. Now I know why I didn't recognize anybody! lol

Yes, evidently that was the case:
"In December 1960, Marquette discontinued intercollegiate football, citing the financial hardships imposed by a program that lost $50,000 in the preceding year."

Love the old unis although I think this is an older picture of Lillyas the Cowboys had reansitioned to the similar uniforms they use today.
the old Cowboy logo at the bottom right of the card is just awesome! I don't know if that was ever an official Cowboy logo or a Topps creation. Either way it rocks!
In answering my own question it appears that is considerd an alternative Cowboys logo used in 1968 and 1969.
