Never really followed basketball, but how can I be this old and never heard of the Buffalo Braves until a few weeks ago?? I gotta get out more....
Never heard of he Buffalo Braves before? I'm shocked!! LOL

The Braves became the San Diego Clippers in the late 70s who are now the Los angeles Clippers. The Braves were actaully pretty good for a while and actually had an NBA MVP in Bob McAdoo. Man, I can name more players off those Braves teams than I can name on any team in the NBA currently...........because I'm cool like that! LMAO!!

70's basketball rocked with two pro leagues competing with one another and a ton of team names that are now obscured in the dustbin of history. Besides the Braves the NBA had the Kansas City-Omaha Kings, the New Orleans Jazz, and the Baltimore/Capital/Washington Bullets for starters. But the ABA took the cake with more oddly named teams like the Memphis Tams/Pros/Sounds, the San Diego Conquistadors, the Carolina Cougars, Kentuclky Colonels and on and on and on. The best team was the Miami Floridians who had hawt ball girls clad in bikinis courtside...........which may interest shallow people like Metsman1986. But I'm above noticing that sort of thing as has been well documnted on the board

I only noticed the Conquistadors a few years ago when I cam across one of the coolest cards of all time - Wilt Chamberlain as a Conquistador. They go for a lot, so I'm on the hunt for an affordable one.

greatest catch? no. most memorable perhaps.
OBJ's one-hander probably a better catch.
Tyree's meant more. It was on final drive that gave NY the lead in the S.B. I was torn too between which was better... if Tyree didn't make that catch I think the Pats would have won.

Franco Harris/Frenchie Fuqua - The Immaculate Reception
Drew Pearson - The Hail Mary

Just off the top of my head.
