I don't have the Shirley/Jackson and have heard the stories about it...........Don't think I've ever seen one actually (except on eBay).........I have the McCovey but it is badly faded and would like to replace it someday.........

I hear you. When my brother and I set up in Cooperstown during Induction Weekends , theft was always A#1 on out minds. Both of us are still very leery of leaving someone unattended with our cards even in a private setting I gotta REALLY, REALLY, REALLY trust you to do that.
Not as terrible as I was. I took an Oh-for-the-season batting in Little League. I was scared "witless" of getting beaned. Kind of hard to get a hit when I was bailing out on every pitch. I'd like to say I batted rightie but it was more like I stood at the plate like those who actually batted from that side. LMAO
I was decent in football also. Quarterback for the Falcons and Vikings. If the kid that we NEEDED at QB could make weight I'd probably be tight end. Look up Punt Pass and Kick Cody Crone Garner Elementary Grand Prairie Texas - I haven't looked him up, but there might be something out there on him. He won it all in 3rd grade. Went to school with him from 2nd grade to 12th. He couldv'e been very very good, he just started smokin that herb with Richie Tarr Sophomore year of H.S. Basketball was a joke for my coaches I'm sure. No telling what kinda gaff I'd make. I could barely dribble! We were doing passing drills in practice one night and I passed the ball to my teammate but I hit my coach in the head instead. Luckilly I found swimming at around age 7. Junior year of H.S. I was about .40 seconds from going to state. That's a big time difference in swimming, but still... I got close... then I'd get humiliated in Austin against guys putting up times like 8 seconds faster than mine.
That is a REALLY great card!! I don't think I've ever seen that card even without the autograph on it before. Allen absolutely mauled guys in the NFL so I can only imagine the carnage he caused at the two small colleges he played. (Butte and Sonoma State)
It is ridiculously low... probably because there are 5000 of them... possibly. I can't believe his penmanship at almost 4500 sigs was stll so clean. It might have taken a few days to do them all, though, and this might be the first sig on day 15. lol
