The guess wasn't completely random, as I figured most of what you eventually lined out in the clue summary. Late 60s Topps non-rookie A's OF who was not a HOFer, who played in a WS. I actually was thinking 68 Monday as well, but saw it was not 68 Topps, so went with the 69 Monday.
I am actually very surprised that someone still got the exact card so soon after we narrowed it down that far, even with all of the clues. That Deckle edge was a slight curve ball, as most of us were probably assuming base Topps card.
I would have liked to see some more thought into further narrowing the field as we got deeper into the questions though. No offense to anyone in particular, but I have witnessed in my contests that there are plenty of people who don't take the time to read everything or maybe don't think before answering. I guess I am even guilty of that here, as I didn't include a set designation and card number, but I was thinking of the base Topps card anyway, so it would not have helped me.
