So true - the big ticket is literally that, the ticket to the Vegas party. But no plus one. No airfare. No hotel. And the guest is Kobe, who is of zero interest to me.
If I am planning on spending $22k on cards, it would be to knockout all my vintage wantlists.
Maybe that is a better question - if you had $22k in throwaway money for cards - what would you spend it on???
However, this being said, if I had this kind of money available I would squirrel quite a bit of it away for my daughter's education and donate quite a bit to the local food bank.
You embarrass me, Jeff. We still have five years to go though. After meeting your daughter last year, I'd say she is a good bet to get an academic scholarship. Man oh man, she was a bright young gal!She must take after your better half.
If I had 22K that I HAD to spend on sports cards I would buy high grade vintage sets from the 1960s either in baseball, football or both. My first choices would be 1966 Topps baseball and 1965Topps football which are two issues I am partial to as they are the first cards I remember as a kid. Which means I am old.
One can dream, can't they?
