I bet Strasburg is bidding on his own card!lol
Maybe it'll be a gift for his mom/dad.

yay just got my $20 allowance i dont care how much it takes even if it's my full twenty dollar allowance i am going to get this strasburg card and if it goes past twenty i know theres some quarters underneath the couch cushions!!!! jk

the guy finally got smart and is doing a pre-approval...he is emailing bidders and anyone who doesn't contact him he is deleting their bids...watch the price drop...although there will still be guys who are like "yeah i'll pay" then won't.

Should have done that in the first place. eBay also needs to put harsher rules down on bidders who bid just for the sake of bidding with no intent on paying.

i look at the price of this card everyday but its gone does anybody know what happened to it did it sell? if so how much

I am sorry I just don't see it. One injury and this kid is a what could have been. Hey if they have the money good for them. But I will take a wait and see approach.

My experience w/ collecting cards of players who are over-hyped like
Strasburg, is they almost always seem to drop in value at some point.
The question is, how much will it be? A little after the hype settles a bit,
or a lot if something bad happens to him. Time will tell. Now that I have
you folks discouraged, trade me a Strasburg purple refractor! Trying to
put that set together.lol

All I have to say Alex Gordon. If I were to pull a guy like Strasburg I would sell while the selling is good. He may pan out but even the HoF guys cards drop and they are proven superstars. Who is hopping on the Bryce Harper bandwagon already?

I agree with you. It is unlikely that Strasburg continues to pitch this well...and even if he does his cards will come down eventually. Just as soon as the next big thing hits the market (maybe Bryce Harper or someone like that). He's a heck of a player so far in his career and I hope he has a successful career, but the hype will eventually die down even if he does have continued success.

I really have to disagree with the Alex Gordon comparison, as Gordon was hyped mainly on an "error" card. Even though he was drafted high with huge expectations also, he never has flashed brilliance for a 3-4 game stretch in the manner that Strasburg has. Strasburg is - without a doubt - the real thing. The question for his hobby status is and will always be:

CAN HE STAY HEALTHY?

Tim

PS: Bryce Harper hasn't done a thing in the big leagues. No way I'd spend money on Harper right now. It is harder to gauge hitters than pitchers (especially looking ahead longterm). There is no denying the filth that Strasburg is throwing up to the plate, though.....
