ok that brings us to 12...ill give it the day but going to be closing down the signup soon...

In the original draft I was involved in, all memebers voted on the cards they were interested in, and then draft order was determined by who sent in the nicest cards. So someone who sent in 5 $40 popular cards would most likely "draft" higher than someone who sent in 5 $20 less popular cards. But in my discussions setting this up we thought that would be too cumbersome.

Another idea (PRosefan1) was to base the draft order on total bv of cards sent in, which would work...I am just trying to avoid someone who sends in $200 worth of cards not have a shot at getting similar bv cards back.
Personally I don’t like basing it off BV. BVs can change and I may be more interested in a card with a BV of 20 rather than a BV of 100. Also what one person deems a nice card another person may not.

Snake draft is definitely the best method for this as it eliminates subjectivity.

I do have one concern though and I will use football as an example since I know football the most. This shouldn't be an issue as there aren't tons of these cards but it should also have to be a big star player not some has been that was good a couple years when they played ie. Ronnie Brown is one of my favorite running backs he played for the Dolphins and split time running with Ricky Williams now he had a few ok seasons but there aren't too many people who know who Ronnie Brown is except for a select group of Auburn/Dolphins fans far from being a star but I have one of his RC's that books for $30 dollars and there's NOBODY that would pay close to that for this card or trade for it for that matter and I just want to avoid that I can see people trying to slide cards like that in and if that's the case I don't think I would want to participate I just fear that not only will I not end up with cards I want but also to lose in value compared to what I offered in the draft.

I have based the draft on book value...not concerned with SV. Remember this is for cards that you dont want, so if you want the card...dont send it in...and you bring up a valid concern about values. Depending on where you end up in the draft, you could have two out of the first 14 picks...Its designed to be fun primarily, and a way to move around your cards. If you still want to drop out let me know

So we're basically just playing old maid. He'll I love those old cheesey games I'm in!

Are we not allowed to send in cards with BV showing NA due to being low numbered? For example a card /10 that has no BV but obviously has good value.

is there an established value of the card with a higher serial number, for example #25 is $15?

Everyone it is after 5 PM EST, I am closing the signup...we have thirteen "teams" which means we will have 65 draft picks to choose from! Very Nice! Give me a bit and I will get you mailing instructions thanks

Good morning all! Happy Saturday! Here is the next step...mailing your cards...these are the details...

All cards are to be mailed to the moderator Katester44. Please be sure you include info on yourself like your screen name here on Bench.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! When you mail your cards, you must also include your return mailing address and $5 cash to cover costs (or a SASE bubble mailer with postage applied) so Andy can ship your draft picks back to you once the draft is done.

Once he has all the cards, I will let you know and than we can start up the draft.

Address for mailing:
Andy Eidson
2405 Friesian Road
York, PA. 17406

As stated above, once all cards are received I will post the draftees! Looking at a 10 day window to get these cards out...hopefully that is enough time to get them mailed...

PM me or Andy a list of the cards you are sending in the format requested...thank you all!

Should we create transactions for this? Seems like a good way to track plus everyone gets a rating out of it.
