This was an interesting video report by our local Binghamton NY CBS station from last night on the booming sports card market. Pretty interesting. I have no idea about the very pricey new products they are talking about here but I'm going to have to go to this guy's shop when the weather gets better since he seems to have a nice selection of vintage.

I was watching the national news the other day and they had a small segment on sports cards. Mainly about how a several dollar pack could yield you a $1000+ card and how the industry has picked up recently. Shop owner mentioned he's had more younger kids in now compared to anytime of past thirty years. Which is good as we need more younger collectors in the hobby.
