Whenever I hear that nickname the first person I think of is Ken "Hawk" Harrelson who is still with us. As a kid I thought he was a huge star since he appeared in several league leaders cards and at least one All Star card. The next person I think of is NBA HOFer Connie Hawkins who passed away some time ago from cancer. Andre Dawson, who as previously mentioned is still alive, comes in a distant third when I think of that nickname. I guess first impressions are the strongest for me.Is The Hawk still with us?
Hawk Harrelson never quite panned out the way it seemed he might. I think he had one or two really good years. But he was a heck of an announcer for the White Sox. He's responsible for "He gone!" when a Chisox pitcher recorded a strikeout. And his home run call, "You can put it on the board... Yes!" belongs right alongside Ueck's "Get up, get up, get outta here and gone."Whenever I hear that nickname the first person I think of is Ken "Hawk" Harrelson who is still with us. What is the backstory on this card and does it sell for much? I had no idea about these mail in only cards for this 1961 Post set. I imagine if they came in sheets any that were cut out (probably 99.9% of them) would be considerd authentic due to them being altered.Just back from PSA, sneaky value card.View attachment 110821

I have a ton of Post Cereal dups and I may have to check for these Mail Ins if they are worth something.
I don't remember any Post cereals with perforations unless the 1962 Mantle and Maris ad cards have them. I shall have to find that box of Post dups and look.Jeff -
The sheets were perforated, so if you look at the one I posted, someone cut, really well, the perforations off. The ones that still have the perforations on will get a number grade.
The ones that were company only from 1961 are a massive premium. Raw sales of the Estrada are in the $300 range for the last few…
Only the ones directly from the company had the perforations. Even the Mantle Maris were on a insert to the magazine and cut from there.I don't remember any Post cereals with perforations unless the 1962 Mantle and Maris ad cards have them. I shall have to find that box of Post dups and look.

I have the 50 Bowman. I've been chasing a 55 Topps All American at a reasonable price for years. Looks like I'll have to wait until I sign that elusive million dollar contract...He may not have served in combat, but he did serve in the Merchant Marine in WWII. I can't afford any of his cards from his playing days but I did find this card that a U.K. television company produced back in '89. https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/98409/1989-All-Time-Great-Quarterbacks

With the cards you post, ya, I'd say it's a good thing! It'd be very hard NOT to like Marvin Harrison... I thought one of the coolest things he did was when Manning and him hooked up for a TD in a game that was a record breaker for Manning, Marvin Harrison refused to keep the ball when Peyton tried to give it to him as they were running back to the sideline... he just kept shoving it back in Peyton's hands. It just doesn't end.....is that a good thing?
