Thanks... not what I was referring to tho. Im curious why the NL has 4 black players and 1 Puerto Rican... while the AL has 4 white players and 1 black player... is it all a coincidence?
The "obvious" answer is that the NL integrated prior to the AL, which would have given them a head start on the signing of minorities? Everyone knows Jackie Robinson. Very few know the player who broke the color barrier in the AL. I was at the game in Cleveland when they honored him. I have a commerative coin from that game. Right now, off the top of my head, I can't remember for the life of me what his name is???
