Thanks... not what I was referring to tho. Im curious why the NL has 4 black players and 1 Puerto Rican... while the AL has 4 white players and 1 black player... is it all a coincidence?

The "obvious" answer is that the NL integrated prior to the AL, which would have given them a head start on the signing of minorities? Everyone knows Jackie Robinson. Very few know the player who broke the color barrier in the AL. I was at the game in Cleveland when they honored him. I have a commerative coin from that game. Right now, off the top of my head, I can't remember for the life of me what his name is???

Toby... and he came in to the league just a few months after Robinson. So to me, the owners made it a point NOT to sign black players.

He was not a good ballplayer. In fact, none of these guys were any good. I remember, I used to see them play at the old Shea Stadium, on the flightpath to LaGuardia.

Some were good. Joe Torre was a borderline hof for his playing career. Gil Hodges. Dusty Baker. Lou Piniella had a good career. Casey Stengel was pretty good. So there were a few. Course then you've got Bobby Cox and Sparky and Leyland and LaRussa and Bochy and Tito.

Tell me honestly, Cowboys dude - aren't you a little embarrassed by the Jerry Jones shenanigans? How long has he been running the show down there? Since when does he negotiate deals directly with his players? He must think he's living in the 1930's.
My prediction - they'll be lucky to win more than 6 games this season. 2-4 in their division, 4-6 out of the division, and game number 17 could go either way.

Yes, it's been rough being a true Cowboys fan lately, longer than lately. But I'm sticking with them. I grew up with them, I celebrated with them, I felt horrible with them as we both were mocked and laughed at. I'm still here.
The deal that him and Micah made, as he said, would have made Micah the highest paid non-QB in the league. Both sides agreed, Cowboys sent it to Micah's agent and HE shut it down. Predict what you want... bet you'll watch the games, though! Jerry Jones is a business man. Always has been. He is thinking 2 steps ahead at all times. You just wait. This will all make sense next season when Dak is gone (Possibly playing for Miami!!), Micah is franchised but still negotiating, and Arch Manning is the starting QB as a rookie. Cowboys may give up a bit to move up to #1 but, in 2 more steps after that, Micah will get his money with cushy incentives attached. And don't forget... Jones is the owner AND GM. He's probably negotiated deals with hundreds of players under the table without the player's agent. These are grown men. They're allowed to say no, even to Jerry Jones. I'm not embarrassed... frustrated, sure. But I'll never be embarrassed to be a true fan.
