I know the answer was $150 but I would have guessed $50 since the owner says he tries to keep ticket prices low. Was the $150 face value or the price on the secondary market (aka scalpers)?

I know i am the "Get off my lawn" guy on this board but I do not get the Savannah Bananas at all from the clips I've seen.. Your descripton of an audio assault i am sure is 100% accurate. What is with all the hype guy DJs at all major sporting events anyways? My friend says every major college program has live DJs at their hme football and basketball games. Why? For who? For What? "MAKE SOME NOISE! "****!!!!"

I'm not saying entertainment businesses are not smart to expand their fan base but the wider the audience they cater to, the less I care about them.

You were close on Bonds with 668 home runs as he has 762. I would have guessed higher myself. Metsman1986 was spot on with Aaron at 755 and I would have coin flipped between 755 and 756.

Back to listening to my conspiracy theory podcast. And remember just because it is a conspiracy theory doesn't mean it ain't true.
Pretty sure it was face value as it was on her MLB app on the ticket

I've never been able to figure out if this set is a1976 or 1975. The copyright on the back says 1975 but it always seems to be called 1976 SSPC. I just looked at TCDB and it says 1976. Very confusing with the 1975 copyright on the ba\Just found out why this is considered a 1976 set on TCDB

Just found out why this is considered a 1976 set on TCDB.

Set was released by TCMA and available exclusively via mail order; advertisement was done through hobby media. The cards have a 1975 copyright but are considered a 1976 set as it was not released until then. SSPC was not licensed by either MLB Properties or the MLBPA, and shortly after its release, was sued by Topps. As part of the settlement, SSPC agreed to never reprint their 1976 set, and to never attempt to produce a similar product ever again.

I picked up a whole set many years ago and it was fairly cheap, not popular at the time I guess.......It was weird seeing Killebrew in a Royals uniform.........The Munson card shows how gritty the man was, in my opinion..........Love all the 1970's images, my Mom says I like collecting pictures of men.........

Your mom going a little politically incorrect on you I see! LOL

You should have told her you do like collecting pictures of men on paper like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, U..S,. Grant and especially Andrew Jackson and none of them appear on $3 denominations.

I'm sorry Greta I just had to. Or were you scolding Metsman1986;s mom?

BTW do you know what that set books for? I've had a bunch of those but never a complete set.

Beckett.com has the complete set listed for less than a new hobby box of topps. (80 bucks)

There MAY be a $250 bill printed... any idea who might be on the front?

Heres one for ya. I attended the baseball HOF back in 2016. At that time there were some players from the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (League of their Own) on site signing autographs and selling their cards. I picked this card up, along with a League of their own movie poster signed by the actual players from the 40s/50s.

Not sure if they still have a display inside the HOF talking about the history of the League.

Thought it was pretty cool

That is ridiculous. I know it is unlicenced but still.

On out of control ticket prices I heard this beauty today. In 1999 to see Game 4 of the NBA Finals in MSG tickets cost $60. Today the same ticket costs $6000. There is inflation and then there is insanity.

That's one of the coolest cards I've ever seen!!

HMMM I have no idea but it would have to be of someone of extreme modesty who would never put their name or face on anything. Am I warm? LMAO!!!
I'd say you're pretty warm.... If I understand correctly, the U.S. Mint has to print at least one copy for congress approval. There will actually be plates made for this ridiculousness!! I'd buy a $250 bill with him on it, though. For history sake... no other president has had a bill made with them on it while they were still living. And check this out... these were actually printed too! Until 1945.

Ah, 1976, 50 years ago, the end of the Big Red Machine.........A man was President that wasn't even elected, gas prices were $.60 and Taco Bell still sold the "Bell Burger" (at least in Springfield, OH)........This ticket was considered an "infield" seat; such a seat during the regular season was $4.50........I did not go to this game because I was to young and it cost a lot of money.........I got this souvenir instead........

A very modest, unassuming person who would never seek atttention and would not name anything after himself? Oh wow! Barry Sanders is going to be on the $250 bill!!! I'm definately getting one!!!

Why is that guy scowling? He's on a $10,000 bill for gosh sake! 10 of those could buy a $100,000 candy bar. It has been a long time since I've eaten a candy bar and I wonder if they even make those anymore?

I know it was 50 years ago but ticket prices have certainly outpaced inflation over that time period.

1976. The last year of the ABA as well. Why does everything I really, really, really like go out of business? The AFL (1969), the original ECW (2001) and the ABA (1976). Life's hard, then you die.

I know most of you young whippersnappers are too young to remember but the 250th anniversary of the USA has no where near the excitement or hype that the Bicentennial had. You'd have to ask an O.G. (Old Goat) about that and I'm sure they'd confirm that.
