You got it!!! Congrats on that. That card is scarce as hen's teeth! Walking in the door the three years our LCS was open recently, I saw tons of Ripken Tradeds, several Topps Gretzky RCs, an OPC Gretzky RC., around 20-30 50s and 60s Mantles, a ton of nice vintage of all sports but not one 1984 Fleer Update Puckett or Clemens. That really showed me just how hard those 84 Fleer Update cards are to find. Great pick up!!

I got my set when they first came out and have only gotten a smattering of 84 Fleer Updates in collections a ain the 40 years since. I picked up a Puckett in Cooperstown in the late 80s when my brother and I set up on induction weekend and have never aquired another Clemens in all that time since the set's release.

One card I rate as maybe even more scarce when talking about regular issue cards in the Piazza RC in the 1992 Fleer Update. Once again, I have never owned a card from that set or from series 3 in 1992 Stadium Club football. With the number of cards that have gone through my hands over the years to not come across a single card from those two issues says just how scarce they are.

I had a 92 fleer update Piazza. I sent Mike a separate TTM autograph request as he was one of my favorites at the time. My return envelope came back and I was so excited. Opened it up to find none of my cards and the letter I included was torn into pieces and sent back to me in my return envelope. I was so mad that I purged my collection of 90 percent of my Piazza cards. Note: I wasnt mad that he didnt sign. More disapointed. What got me was the time it took to take my cards, rip up my letter, seal it all back up minus my cards and send it back, he could have signed one. Just one. I only sent three. Yah ------ Mike Piazza.

Wow! That is awful! I can't click "like" on that post! Damn!

Was the 92 Fleer update one of the cards you mailed to him or was it one of the cards that got purged?

I've heard Piazza is a real piece of poop....
Kind of makes you wonder if that is why Clemens always made him roll in the dirt. And Piazza never did anything about it. Because Clemens played mostly in NY, Boston and Toronto, I always thought he was an East Coast dandy. In reality he wa a Texas redneck..............and I am not using that term perjoratively. Piazza probably figured Clemens was "likes to fight guy" and stayed in his shoes.

BTW you were an answer to a search I made here this weekend. I was trying to find out who introduced me to Valley of the Sun and "Riding the Dunes" I put "stoner rock" in the search here and lo' and behold, your name came up! And I think it was about 4:20 PM when I did that search. LMAO

I have no idea why Valley of the Sun is considered "stoner rock" since they are nothing like the Grateful Dead or Phish. From the songs I've heard they are very energetic (aka not lethargic) with fantastic heavy guitars and a very masculine vibe to them. Anyhoo, "Riding the dunes" came up on my playlist and I had to find out who introduced me to that song & group. I'm a very hard sell when it comes to music and you certainly did that in this case.
