Ok @Kirbyfan34... this one's for you... this guy used to make the Cowboys look ridiculous!! He did that to alot of teams, but I think he took extra pleasure in doing it against Dallas.
Yes, I agree. Because if I remember correctly wasn't Dallas one of the teams that was supposed to draft him before he started falling in the draft? Thanksgiving 1998 was especially sweet. But even more fun was watching him destroy the Packers. Including the "Moon Game" I have to send that to a good friend once a year who is a huge Packer Backer, just to humble him a bit.

The two Cowboys vs Viking games I remember were the Thanksgiving game in 1998 that you mentioned where Randy Moss just dismantled the Cowboys and the 1975 Hail Mary Playoff game. Kind of hard to forget Moss's performance! And yes, it was heavily rumored that the Cowboys were going to draft him but the constant scandals with the Dallas players combined with questions about Moss's character caused them to pass on him in the 1998 draft.

The other Vikes-Cowboys matchup was the 1975 Playoff game when Staubach threw a Hail Mail to the original #88 to win the game. I remember exactly where I was when this happened. Two things on this game were 1) The original #88 should have been called for offensive P.I. and 2) the Vikings were playing outdoors where they still should be playing!! Shameful how a team called the Vikings plays indoors in a climate controlled enviornment.

I always thought there was a flag thrown on the Hail Mary play... at the end you see something come into frame for a millisecond. I finally found out watching an interview about the play, Pearson said it was actually an orange being thrown from the stands by a fan.
And could you imagine having Irvin AND Moss on a team together? Forget about off field issues... win a 4th Super Bowl in the decade and no one would care!

Ah yes the Smokey All Star Fire Prevention cards. I think Kirby has one that I would like to get a hold of.

The real question though is his name Smokey Bear OR Smokey The Bear. Similar questions concern Winnie the Pooh, or is it Winnie Pooh....Wait, i guess that doesn't sound as good. HAHAHAHA
Has to be Smokey The Bear, just sounds right

11 card submission from SGC arrived last week....I just enjoy trying to find some 10s on newer stuff, and see what a vintage will come back as....no high dollar value here, just for fun 😁
Nice card and a very nice grade on a colored bordered card!!

Matt Hazeltine was a mainstay in 1960s cards. He was one of several 49ers from the 60s that passed away early due to cancer or some such disease. I cannot remember the backstory on thiese deaths but one of the theories was Kezar Stadium was built on a dump and the chemicals from it caused these early deaths.

A very cool addition to the Cowboybilia PC. While looking into it I found out something I didn't know about this set and Edge cards. The Aikman card could be one of two things... a. The card that Aikman was supposed to sign but didn't, for unknown reasons, and issued in packs with a designation of 600 copies, or b. A leftover card that was printed for the set that Collector's Edge just gave away after their bankruptcy. With the serial number being 26 I'm thinking it's one of the ones that Aikman was supposed to sign...
So ya, cool card and interesting back story to the card and set!

I hate to disappoint you, TC ol pal, but there is no chance the Boys make the playoffs this year. And with their rookie qb, i give the Vikes equally little chance - especially with improved Bears. So y'all gonna have to wait awhile for that matchup.

Ahhh don't say that... there's always a chance! Two of the wild cards playing in the Championship game. I bet stranger things have happened!

i think that if J.J. has half as good of a year as Darnold Sam did, I would say we at least make the postseason, From there, anything can happen

I give the Vikings a fighting chance for the playoffs. The rest of the team is solid. With JJ, we'll have to wait and see.
OTOH, I give the Boys no chance at all. They're just no good, and Dak appears to be the second coming of Tony Romo.
