He was on a basketball scholorship to the University of Arizona and was the back up point guard to Steve Kerr on their 1988 Final Four team. He did not go out for baseball there until his junior year. Kind of like Kirk Gibson at Michigan State who was an All American wide receiver and went out for baseball at MSU his Senior year.
Crazy how athletic some guys are. I know I do this... watch a pro game of some sort and think ya if I practiced I could do that. HA!! These guys are so daggum good they make everything look so easy! They say my guy Michael Irvin could've gone to NBA... glad he chose football!! Probably had more fun off the field as a football player...

Mr Lofton, here, played for 11 different MLB teams! The record.... 14 different teams. I can't imagine. He was basically used by a third of the league. At least he was paid well....

Kenny had a skillset that was desired by most of the league. Get on and get over. All somebody had to do was hit him in!!

Man oh man was this guy a beast in college! A man amongst boys... it didn’t look fair!
It's too bad he didn’t do much in the NFL. I actually routed for him... when he wasn't playing against the Cowboys.
(He has a great signature
Lucked out to be at the game when he broke the rushing record...not so lucky with the streaker running right after that directly towards my end zone section 😖 Always a great signature!

I just looked up the NCAA career rushing leaders (Dayne is now second) and of the top 11 on the list only one is in the Pro Football HOF. And that would be former Denver Bronco great Tony Dorsett. Jonathan Taylor is still active but right now only TD is in the Hall.

Just goes to show how hard it is to succeed long term as an RB in the pros. Which makes Derrick Henry all the more incredible.
