Jesse was there any update on this?

Nope, still waiting for that package with a replacement. I still have the thread in my subscriptions, so I'll keep you posted. :D :D

I subscribed to this thread awhile back (stealthy, no? :D )...watching the action unfold intently! I do have a few 07 SSC's as well, that I just might contact them to see if a replacement is possible. Your experience will help me decide if it's worth the bother, or even possible.

haha, very stealthy. ;) Yeah, hopefully the result will be worth the time invested into it. I'm curious to see if they will send another Sweet Spot auto, but on a glove or bat, but since mine is a dual, that might be harder for UD to obtain. I'm kind of hoping I will get a card from a different set altogether, but we'll see. I think I'll give UD a call tomorrow and see how it's coming along. I'll be sure to keep you and everyone else posted. :D :D

Some news... called Upper Deck and gave the rep the case number. He said the case was closed and the cards were shipped out on Friday so I should be getting them soon. I'm pretty excited! :D :D

Thank you for you thread and information. I have the same problem with my 2007 Rollie Fingers auto card. I sent them an email; hopefully I will have a successful outcome too.

Thanks,
John

Got them today! Here's what they sent me, how do you think I did? The Almoar is 12/12 and the Swisher is 09/99.

Very well done. The Alomar is especially nice since it's serial-numbered to his jersey #, and inscribed with the same jersey number. I hope that Swisher won't fade! Otherwise, it'd be the same problem over again...

Jesse can you please advise me on the process by which you were able to get your autos replaced? Namely, you called their customer service line, and then what? Thanks for any help/advice you can provide!

Robert

Yeah, the Swisher is on synthetic, so I don't really see how they fixed any problems with that. I'm just going to sell it on ebay to get it out of my hair. I'll give you a step by step of what I did to get a replacement:

1. I called Upper Deck (I've memorized their number, it's sad) and told them that I had a faded autograph.
2. The rep asked me if I had a scanner, and told me to send a scan to [email protected]
3. They responded by asking me to describe the card (year, set, ect.).
4. Once I did that, they responded with a case number and told me to put that number on my package I send them (don't send without the case number).
5. I sent them the faded auto, and then received the two replacements.

Good luck! :D :D

Jesse:
I have a redemption pending with Upper Deck, and they just contacted me and told me that, by mistake, they sent my Alomar Sweet Spot Auto to you. So, if you don't mind, please return it to its righteous owner :D

Congrats man! That's a very nice looking card.

I do have a redemption pending with them and hope the replacement is as sweet as yours.

Luis

haha, thanks bud! If you're interested, it's FT. however, I think I'm going to list the Swisher and my other two SS autos on ebay before I have to send them back again. ;) :D :D

Were those random replacements or were they the same card/players you returned? My Marshall is not the 07 year, so I never sent info back after my inquiry. I should scan and send it anyway to see what happens.

Thanks for the update. I have a few 07 SSC that are really bad now, one being a Brooks Robinson. I also have one of the 07 SS Signatures with a gold sig. It hasn't faded one bit. I think with the gold pen they used a different type of pen, maybe a paint marker, that is holding up very well. The other 07 SS that I have on bat or gloves are also holding up very nicely.
Once I see what some of the others get for replacemnets, I may send a few back.
Was it difficult getting someone on the phone when you called? Is there anybody actually still in thier CS department?

Thanks,

These were cards from their "replacement stock." I've scanned the letter so you can see:
