Would love feedback from any members on the advantage of the OLPG vs the magazine. I actually enjoy thumbing through the magazine but hate it when something I'm looking for isn't listed. Quite a difference in the cost. Is the price difference worth the benefits?
2 yrs magazine sub $79.95
1 yr online $129.99

Looking forward to hearing any comments or thoughts. Thanks!

Hey Rick.........I do the OPG and not the magazine.............Seems like the pricing comes out 2 to 3 weeks after the product release............I like it because you can look up just about anything, within that sport...........Found some crazy releases that I never knew existed; mostly older stuff.............

I like the OPG for many of the same reasons listed above. If you can find a phone number, let them know you are wavering between OPG and print, they usually make a better offer than the listed price.

I did the Magazine for years then switched to the online guide. The Beckett site offers a lot more than just the magazine alone. Prices are generally faster to be found online than in the book as well. Lastly, you can find almost anything on the OPG.

One other tidbit that's a pet peeve of mine............Make sure you spell the players name exactly as it appears in the Beckett database............I.E........

Vladimir Guerrero not Vladimir Guererro...........The former will get you nowhere...........

The set names can be tricky too..............Especially the Upper Deck/UD nomenclature.............That can really get frustrating...........Would be easier entering the players name, year, and card #.................

Metsman, if you think spelling is a problem as well as the lack of dash in the card nominclature, just think about us old guys and the mice type teeny tiny print in the magazines. When I was using them I had to buy a big round LED lit magnifier just to see the pricing. But it has been a great purchase because I have to use it to read the type on the A&G minis, and full size, too.

Thanks everyone. I sent a message from their website inquiring about a subscription and if they were running any specials to new subscribers. Will LYK what I get back.
Rick

If you get the OPG, switch off the auto-renew. When your subscription is nearing the end, they will call to ask you to renew. If you make it sound like you are unsure, they will give you a nice discount at that time. I do it every year.
