Nice looking throwbacks, but none of these guys are very good. Bohm's a passable 3B, but he ain't no Mike Schmidt. Hayes, same deal, nice player but nowhere near Machado or Devers level. Mountcastle - not good enough to be Boog Powell. By 2030, they'll be filling space in your commons box.
For the most part I agree. My purpose in posting pictures in this thread is too show examples of what the cards look like. Not everyone has a great design. And they may not be hofers. I don't collect hits. I collect sets. And at this point most of the players are still active, since I am on 2021 cards. The rookies that I posted yesterday were the best of that year.

Plus the 1972 design is classic............Thanks for sharing..........

Bohm is a good 3rd baseman

I just think the hobby is getting overly excited about unproven rookies. I pity all the people who invested heavily in Wander Franco, for instance. And so much hype about Mountcastle - whereas Rutschman may be the real deal.

I agree. All most all of the rookies in a given year aren't going to make it to the HOF. Most of them will be forgotten. That's why I don't chase hits. In fact, I would price those cards much more conservitive than Beckett, or what they sell for on eBay. With eBay, a few of the hot picks go for a good price, but the price drops quickly on most of them.

In a way though, isn’t that part of the fun? I by no means an investor or hit chaser, but it would be nice for instance, if Jo Adell turns it around and plays like Mike Trout for a few years as I have 7 of his RC’s. (All through pack purchases)
