You should have reported the incident to the mods that's considered harassment under the bench policy and especially coming from 2 established members --When all e;se fails the good ole ignore option works
Well it takes two to make a trade and i'm pretty sure both sides have to be happy about it to make it happen. I wouldn't let it get to you and just move on to the next trade. This is a hobby and it's suppose to be fun... Any where you go there will be people like that and a good portion of traders are members of a handful of other trading sites. This site has lots to offer and has some really good loyal members. Like someone mentioned above use the ignore button if needed.Yesterday I was told by a trader that has been on here for a long time that he was not here to make a trade with me that would make me happy but was on here for his own personal gratification. And then a new trader chimed in with I needed to get a life that this was just a hobby. So I have decided to move on from here.
I do want to thank all of the traders on here that did make trades with me over the years. And I will be back on a few times over the next few weeks because I do have a few trades pending. But otherwise good-bye.
Why instead of quiting, we should apply a filter on usage and if you create havoc or an unpleasant experience you go in time out and or removed. Wouldn't that help everyone's experiences??
The Bench does have that. In the FAQ, there is an outline of what is considered to be unacceptable behavior. The MOD team is able to put members who don't abide by those rules in timeout, or worse, depending on the severity of the behavior.
We do our best, but we don't see everything, especially if it is in private messages. The only way we can react to issues, is if we know about issues.
I love this post! I've felt like this for a long time now! Lurking in the shadows, just waiting for a Tony Parker card to show its face. I used to get trades for my Tony Parker PC all the time. It was nothing to do a trade a week. These days it's become increasingly more difficult to find one a month! Here lately has been good, and I'm hoping it keeps up, but the last several years haven't seen too many additions. It could be because the more I get, the less I need, and I'm sure that does play a small role. However, as many holes as I have to fill, I think it has more to do with the fact that there just aren't as many folks as interested in small trades for plain base/inserts, or even just plain relics anymore.War Eagle, Stan. Don't quit. I've had similar feelings. Remember when The Bench was packed with users? You could find ANYTHING on here, and that was the best! I completed sets and found some obscure cards for my player pc (Clete Thomas... again, War Eagle!)
While the site has changed, the hobby has also. From what I have noticed, there are lots of folks looking to move faster. Whether it's to flip, stash, etc., that's none of my business. However, I feel this "speed" can lead to thoughtlessness. When cards have high demand, folks may not care to provide the best service. As someone who has hardly any new product, I've spent my time "lurking" - in case a post pops up from someone who has a want/item i can hit/deal for.
We've all been guilty of incorrectly inferring tone from typed words. I'd hate that to be the reason you left. Nothing wrong with taking a reprieve! I can use some company - and another Auburn alum - in the "land of the lurking."
