This card shows just how much the game has changed. Tark broke Unitas's all time passing yardage mark with 47,003 yards which was a huge deal at the time. Below is the list of the current top 20 career yardage leaders and only Tark and Fouts played in what I'd call the vintage card era. The game has made it much easier for QBS to accumulate massive passing stats due to favorable rules to offenses, pristine field conditions,, more games, better equipment etc., etc Hard to believe Tark accomplished this in the coldest, harshest enviornment in outdoor Metropolitan stadium in Minnesota.

While there are a lot of legendary names on this list there are a bunch who would hardly be considered HOFers but whose gaudy stats were a product of the modern game.

Had no idea that Matty Ice was that high on the list. Brady needs a comeback so he can get to 90K

And who would have ever thought that Matt Ryan had more career passing yards than Dan Marino? Certainly, I would never have guessed that!

There are several other guys on that list that are surprising like Eli Manning for starters. The astounding thing is how much Tark's record was broken by. It would be like Babe Ruth's long standing 714 home run record was broken by someone who hit 1400 homers!

Right? As a Vikings fan Tark is STILL the hallmark for our Franchise at QB. (I became a fan a year or so after he retired) and other than Tommy Kramer and Wade Wilson have rarely had a steady qb go more 3 years.
