What a monster he was. Probably the most physically dominating back of all time especially considering the era in which he played. I'm sure Isaiah Robertson would agree with that take. That particular play hurts my chest to watch it, much less Robertson's,
Oh man! I had to look that one up. That's a crushed sternum if I ever saw one! I didn't realize that was the same play his whole jersey was torn off of him... great clip!
I think the only RB now that could inflict that kind of punishment is Derrick Henry. Seems like teams are going towards smaller quicker RB's that are in constant rotation.

That's the play! Robertson was a really good linebacker (Hall of Very Good) too but he was only 225 lbs. Sadly he died outside of Dallas in a car accident about 8 years ago, I just read. I gotta look up top see if he was from there.

BTW do you have the Emmitt Peter Max card?

Should be here today, actually! Thought about going after the whole insert set but they are pretty high... so I am just getting the 'Boys from it for now. Plus, I've got a handful of other little sets I'm trying to finish. I think every insert set from '94-'98 had either Aikman or Emmitt in it. And alot had all three triplets...

Well then if you are going to be that way, , i won't offer my Emmitt in trade then. LOL I recognized that card right off from your Aikman post and figured I should check to see if you had one. The Emmitt is the only one I have from that set too.

Maybe... just MAYBE if you could get organized and make a trade list I would have been able to try and trade for that card!! lol But seriously... I think that's one you'd want to hang on to. Very unique card. The ones signed by Peter Max (/42) book for $350 each. The unsigned ones are far from that BV but still a cool card. What would you call that... modern art? Pop art?

Talk about the card industry changing, before 1989 player's RCs in football were put out 1 year after their draft class at the earliest. There are a few notable exceptions like Joe Namath and Ernie Davis but 99% of the time prominant player's rcs were released in their 2nd season. In 1989 card isues had 2 years of rookie cards in them with players from the 1989 draft (Barry, Deion, Aikman) as well as players from the 1988 Draft (Thurman Thomas, Tim Brown and Michelle Irvin)

And now it's like they can't get their Rookie Cards out fast enough... I'm not a big fan of the RCs of the player photoed in their College uniform, but I get it... I really don't like the RCs of the player at OTA's... but the worst are the RCs of the player at the NFL Combine. Topps was the worst at this!

So I assume you would not like the 92 Bowman Senior portrait cards of Mariano Rivera, Chipper Jones and others? Chipper has the most 90's look with the long sleeve dress shirt, coach shorts and and a ball cap. Come to think of it some of the Topps rookies in the flagship 92 set, probably just used the player's senior picture.

Mariano's RC is the least likely looking card of a future HOFer. 6'4", 168 lbs? Wow1 No one was confusing him with Bo Jackson! But he ended up being an All TIme Great.

I know the Rivera... had to look up Chipper's. Classic!! That was the look I guess for '92ish... I really like the braided leather belt that's way too long so its wrapped around itself... that's one of those "what was I thinking!?!" pictures...
