1989-90 Hoops #351 Steve Kerr RC

Scobes can you tell me the BV of this card? I've been curious about that lately.

Talk about the recent topic about worst buys, add the 1989-90 Hoops to my list although thes set was not the worst of the bunch. I bought a case of Series 1 and Series 2s back in the day for a small fortune. I lost my shirt (as well as my @$$) on the 2s but probably broke even trading the sealed case of 1s for a ton of vintage. All in all, those were terrible buys. The frenzy over the 89-90 Hopps as insane mostly due to David Robinson's RC.

Just another painful lesson for me in not folowing the hype with prospects which very few collectors seem to avoid. It also reinforced my old philosophy of zigging when everyone else zags when it comes to buying cards.

@SymphonicMetal

Hi -

It books $5. The top cards BV-wise in the set are the Robinson RC ($10), the two Jordans ($8 each), and the Kerr RC. Oddly enough, the Robinson and the Jordans have down arrows.

Thanks a lot Scobes! I was really curious about that Kerr. My 4 year old guide had it at $3 and I was reluctant to trade one not knowing if had gone way up given his success as a coach. I guess MJ and Robinson had bad years last year. Go figure.

Man... I remember the hype a week or so before a Colts/Pats game starting around '04. You'd think Manning and Brady actually came out to the 50 and threw down themselves. Unfortunately Brady usually got the best of the Colts,
My thought was if they ever got to a SB, it would be because they didn't have to play the Patriots!

Most years you'd be right... but the stars aligned in '06 and The Colts beat New England twice and won the Super Bowl. That was the year of that crazy comeback by the Colts in the AFC Championship game against the Pats. What's weird is if you look at their stats, both Harrison and Manning had pretty average seasons (average for them!)

Were you Romophobic while he was playing??? He's a tough son-of-a-gun!! I think he holds the Cowboys record for 4th Quarter comeback wins.... and broken clavicles.
Cuomophobia is ok (Both of them...) What kind of person actually thinks that they can get back in to a major poitical arena and win after being caught sexually harassing several women? I think that's narcissism to the extreme!
Another reason why I am a Romophobe.

And of course I get chastised by everyone's favorite Swede for beinfg politically incorrect with this view.

Pulled this card last night after an all weekend search of any baseball to rip. Lowest serial numbered card I've ever Pulled beating out the 2019 Heritage Steve Carlton mint nickle which was numbered 9/15 I believe.
Very cool! I think the lowest ser. number card I've pulled myself was /25. Back when I was buying boxes of '11 Crown Royale. It was a Bart Starr au/jsy card I ended up selling
