Nice! I was shocked to see he kicked 2 50 yard field goals in 1958 which was no easy feat given the heavy uniforms and tough outdoor field conditions. So he was a fullback, end and kicker. Pretty versatile player! Here's that '60

What is that card going for now? I always thought that was an iconic card with Wilt, The Conquistadors and him listed as "Coach/center". Awesome!I only noticed the Conquistadors a few years ago when I cam across one of the coolest cards of all time - Wilt Chamberlain as a Conquistador. They go for a lot, so I'm on the hunt for an affordable one.
I'm working on this set. Got any doubles to trade?
I see the Wilt Q card on ebay auctions and a nice one is never less than fifty bucks. NM level always over a hundred. A graded 10 lists around 15K.What is that card going for now? I always thought that was an iconic card with Wilt, The Conquistadors and him listed as "Coach/center". Awesome!
My only specific memory of the Conquistadors (aka the Q's for short) outside of my obsessive reading of Basketball Digest and The Sporting News, was watching the game where Dr. J. scored a career high 63 points against them. I got home very late from a road basketball game and flipped on the TV and lo and behold the Nets/Qs were on!!!! That game was a complete shootout and it went into multiple OTs before the Qs prevailed very late at night. The Nets were absolutely loaded but the cellar dwelling Q's had a bunch of cool players like Bo Lamar, Stew Johnson and Travis "Machine Gun" Grant and they prevailed that night. I was so tired by the time it was over but I stayed with it until the end.
Can you imagine having a player with the nicname "Machine Gun" these days? The media reaction wouldhave been similar to The Toecutter's..........
I've got that one - had it since I was a kid.Here's that '60
