Crazy how you could find cards being sold, literally, anywhere then! I tried selling some SEC players' cards 25 per bag with 1 auto in each at a garage sale here a few years ago. I think I ended up with 8 or 9 team bags for $5 a piece. I sold NONE! You know the clientel at most garage sales... but mixed in are Grandma's looking for nickel deals. I thought they would at least buy one or two for their grandchildren. Not even close! lol
Grocery stores even had cards. I remember the Albertson's in Grand Prairie had a good selection in the early-mid 90's. And Hy-Vee in Liberty, MO had 'em too. There were 3 shops in GP and 4 that I remember in Liberty, but to find some from a street vendor would be pretty sweet now-a-days!

I had no idea Andre Reed was #2 in career receptions at one time. The 841st catch passed Art Monk's 840 for #2 on the all time career receptions list.
To show how much the game has changed in the last 25 years, Reed now stands in 22nd place on the all time receptions list. Football has turned into pinball which makes statistics meaningless any more.
And to add insult to injury, Grand Parairie's own (by way of Dalworth High) Charley Taylor, who was once the NFL's all time reception leader, now stands at #76 on the all time list.

I don't think I'd want Manning from what I can see. Sure he dominated Sam Houston State but struggled mightily against UTEP with 10 straight incompletions at one point. I think the hype is all about his last name or he would have started last year, if not the last two years. Note Bryce Underwood the #1 recruit in the nation this year started right off the get for Michigan, against Oklahoma on the road no less.. That is what the top recruit in the country is supposed to do.
I think you may be right. Jerry will go for Manning cuz that's the kind of fool he is, condemning the Cowboys to yet another decade of mediocrity. Y'all seem to forget that Arch is Cooper's son, not Peyton's and not Eli's. Maybe Coop could have been a force if not for his injury. It's a small sample size, but Arch doesn't wow me, or anybody else for that matter. But hey, Cowboys fans, go for the shiny bauble.
Yes, I know he's not Peyton or Eli's son... being a Manning and playing with that name on his back in the NFL will hopefully drive him to be the Manning people think of 50 years from now, though. Peyton, Eli, Cooper and Gramps probably want that for him too. I believe it's against NCAA rules to have an ex-NFL player personally coach a college player, but once in the NFL, Arch will have a few of the best QBs teaching him.
