Sharpie and the celebrations just got better as others outdid one another. If someone takes something too far, they have to suffer the consequences, and sometimes it can be painful. You never know the veteran committee might let him in years down the road LOL.
I'm just guessing here... Eagles fan?
Many opponents have flapped their arms mocking the Eagles over the years... what if George Pickens (CeeDee would never do this) scored and flapped his way to the 50 yard line with no Eagles player chasing him down? It would be a slap in the face to all Philly fans.
There's self-promotional celebrations then there's disrespect. I love the motto, "Act like you've been there before."
The veteran committee would have to let McNabb in if they let Ocho Johnson Cinco in. And that ain't happenin! Sorry, not sorry!

Ah but the T.O. celebratration went a bit too far. First he stood on the star of the helmet in the endzone arms stretched looking up. Ok fine... but running to the center star of Texas Stadium and planting the ball as if to say "this is my house now" NO SIR!! Teague should have done more than just knock him out of the Star... T.O. is a characature of himself... I did like the T.O. using his arms as letters, tho. That was clever. And Chad Ocho Johnson Cinco... hope he kept that jacket he wore on the sidelines. Thats the only gold jacket he'll ever have...
I hate the celebrations especially the scripted ones. I don't mind spiking the football like Harold Carmichael or Gronk did but the song and dance routines? And what is the deal with all 11 defensive players running down to the end zone and striking a posr like Madonna after a turnover?? I saw the Lions D do this after a turnover and they were down by 20 points!! A former president even was taken aback by this.

I like what Jim Brown said about these celebrations. "If a 300 pounder was shaking his @$$ in the end zone when he was playing someone would have done something about it". No kidding. Quote the Jim Brown............nevermore.

Could you imagine 11 big ass dudes in a backyard rehearsing how to sit in a straight line pretending to row a canoe?? And one of them, ascot and all, clapping his hands and stomping his foot saying "no no no!! Row like you mean it!! Take it from the top boys! Who has the football?!"

A nice one from Jeff... although, I feel bad, since he traded it to me he only has 137 more of copies. So sorry, Jeff!!
I sent you something to ease the pain. Should be there in 6 to 8 weeks!

Man those 86 Topps football were an affront to the eyes, but had some top notch rookies. I get what they were going for with the football field look but....

Agreed. I don't think they're as bad as the 84's though. Those lilted rectangles always mess with my eyes making it look like the borders aren't even. I know it's an optical illusion, but man, it a mind effer. I really want to send in my Marino and Elway rooks but don't trust my eyes enough to say they are even, it's just the tilted rectangles...

I didn't mind the 84s, but after the spectacular 85 design it feels like Topps lost their way on football designs. Then by the late 90s all sports ended with the same damn design anyway so...

HAHA! After trading one to BDmartin and to you I only have 17 dups left of this card. THE HORRORS!!!! I have no idea how I got so many of this card or the 47 extra 1987 Topps Bo Jackson baseball RCs I have either. The only thing I can think of is people didn't pull those cards when I bought their collections. People always seemed to hold on to their Cal Ripken cards though as I always seem to be short on cards of him.

Cal was a fave across America it seemed. I was giddy, like a school girl, when I pulled an autograph baseball of his from one of those mystery bags at the LCS in Plano! If you have any cool Bo cards you're willing to trade LMK. Always liked him, too. I'll try to find the viddy of his "Welcome to the NFL moment" later. Hilarious!

I also pulled a Monte Irvin auto baseball from one of those baggies but traded it for a Michael Phelps "RC"

Those Bo Jackson cards with him holding a bat and wearing shoulder pads seemed to have a huge increase in popularity 35 years after they came out. The 1990 Score baseball card was $10 which was more than you previously could have bought the entire 700+ card set for.. Oddly the 1989 Score Football Update Bo is only $4 and is much rarer than the Score baseball one. 2 or 3 members here wanted that Score Football Update but no one here had one. I have a bunch of complete sets but not a solo Bo Jackson card from that.

Just weird that the dime a dozen Bo Jackson is $10 from the mass produced 1990 Scoe baseball set but only $4 from the lesser produced 1989 Score Supplemental Football set. Go figure.
