The Bench Autograph Cards

Instead of making cards, why not just make them all cut auto's and that way you could just use commons and paste the auto over it. That way you don't have to buy card stock. Just a thought. :)

I would love to be apart of this. i guess my thought is to make sure we have base cards. Some of us still collect plain old base cards to build a boring set. Getting a few autos would be great, but mostly I would want a base card of everyone that is involved.

I would be happy to chip in to help cover some of the costs.

I think if you want to be pictured in the set you should have to pay a little something. I think most of us could pony up maybe 10 bucks? If you get 100 people times 10 bucks that is 1,000 dollars just for the costs of putting it together.

If you wanted to do a "game used' I could send one of my BDU Topps. They are outdated as of 1 Oct and I have several. You could get several patch variations:)

This idea was brought up on the beckett basketball boards too, but never panned out.

Here's my suggestion. People should just take an index card, cut and size it, design it, sign it and mail it out whenever they make a trade with another board member. It is similar to the postsecret idea.

1. Say you make a trade with another Bench member. You can mail out more than one index card, and either design them all the same way or make each one different. This would allow one member (call him member B) to 'trade' your card to another member (call him member C) so that even if you don't necessarily make a trade with member C, he would have the opportunity to own your card from a trade he/she makes with member B. Make sense?

2. Anyway, each member would have the ultimate control over how Short Printed their card was - because they wouldn't necessarily have to include an index card for every trade them make. Then, each person could put up their cards into a photobucket to show everyone their own personal different designs or 'print runs' as well as the ones they have acquired in the mail from others. Maybe this would even encourage more trading.

3. This way, a single person wouldn't have to shoulder the costs of printing, distributing and such.

It's just an idea, but I think it is logical.

EDIT: here's my example

Here is the list of traders intersted in this. If your name is on this list, find a decent picture or two of yourself and email it to

Brett [email protected]
Robbie [email protected]

We are still in the beginning stages of this, but Robbie & I want to get the ball rolling. We will come up with a few designs and will probably post a poll of which designs to go with.

Any other suggestions will be welcomed.

If you are not on this list and would like consideration to be included let us know.

I think it would be pretty neat to have some parallels to this idea.

*Base Auto

*Dual Auto (maybe with your biggest trade partner or fellow player collector)

*GU cards...interesting idea

I think it would be nice to have a card like Co-Signers...the person you collect in the background with you in the foreground.

Thanks for letting me be included on this one.

This doesn't qualify because my picture is awful, but how's this for a dual auto? See, Brent! This is what your coaching did! Lol!
