A Detroit sportswriter named Rob Parker nicknamed Matt Stafford "Stat Padford" because he had so many useless yards and completions when Detroit was too far behind to win. He has always been one of the greatest arm talents in the NFL and lots of stats but it is not what your stats are but when you get them.

I really like Stafford as a QB but I don't think he is a HOFer. Same with Eli Manning, Carson Palmer and a bunch of other QBs of that ilk.
It's "when you get them"? How about 38 4th quarter comebacks - 4th all time behind Brady, Peyton and Big Ben. He will finish top 7 in yards and td's. Super Bowl win will be taken in context of first year with Rams, proving that a) he was the missing piece of the puzzle and b) he probably would have had more with a different team than Detroit. I think he will be 1st ballot.

If my Michgian State math is correct your age is Charlie Waters jersey #. 41 makes you a young whippersnapper, a ner do well and a youthful rapscallion! LMAO!

You can't think about Charlie Waters without thinking of Cliff Harris. Much like the safety duo of Anderson and Scottfor the great Dolphin teams.

Haha your math is on point... well done. And nice catch on the jersey number... didn't notice that! What a coinkidink!!

Got some cards back from grading, very happy! And about what I was guessing for grades.....Some low $ stuff for sure, but for me, it's about having fun! Hoping people remember about fun in the hobby.....
That is a very nice looking card from a very nice looking set. The brightness of the back is really awesome!

I totally agree about having fun in the hobby. Too many collectors are all about the dollars and cents and most of them end up getting discouraged and dropping out of the hobby. I've seen that scenario time after time especially since there are way more sellers than buyers.

And one more thing about this card you posted...........BRING BACK PAT PATRIOT!!!

Awesome! If I have to name the 3 all time greatest Cowboys , (not including Tom Landry) I'd have to go wih Staubach, Emmitt and Bob Lilly.
Hard for me to argue those 3... and I tried to think of a different player but those 3 always won out. The only other player that comes close to that discussion, imo, is Aikman.

I was thinking about this and all of the Cowboys cards you've posted over the years, you could have been featured as a Cowboys super collector in Beckett when they would do those features in the 90's. Do you have a goal of collecting every Cowboy card or just one of each player? Either way its an impressive collection

Hey thanks for that. I don't know about super collector status... I might have been considered as an Irvin super collector about 10 years ago if I had sold my other Cowboys and kept going after every Irvin like I was. That became ridiculous to keep up with him being featured in alot of sets with parallels and autos and what not. I guess my main goal in my Cowboys collection is trying to get a RC, Auto, and Patch card of each of the Cowboys stars/legends... then of players I liked watching... then the more rare cards of the 90s... but you know how it goes, it's hard to stay on point sometimes then you have to reel yourself back in and reset.

Fine looking specimen. The front is really beautiful. Those red backs get a lot of chipping, so I agree the grade is generous. But if you only go by the front, it's right.

Great looking card! A definate Hall of Very Gooder. Not sure if the pose he was in here was as a receiver or a punter, both of which he was. In the 1964 NFL Championship Game he caught 3 TD passes in the Browns 27-0 win over the favored Colts. The last time the Browns won the NFL title too.
