Curious about your 2010 collecting goals

No goals...too much pressure!

If I do anything, I would like to start AND finish the cataloging of my Garvey stuff. Started too many times and stopped. Lost a ton of scans this past year. It will take a great effort, but I need to do it someday.

I will continue to obtain new items for the various theme collections I have as the funds and availability permit.

1. Planning on going to the National...close to home, never gone, and probably will never get the chance again.--got there!!
2. Hit 3300 Maddux cards--well past that already!!
3. Get to 800 of the 1007 of my 2006 ud fx purple set
4. Get my website updated, sell/trade off a lot of my stuff to keep my wife happy
5. Hit the 2500 post/250 trade part of the Bench HOF (already have 400 trades, just need another 10 posts!)--got there!!
6. Hit 3700 Maddux cards now...at 3561!
7. Hit 400 Clement cards
8. Hit 300 Varitek cards, 250 Youkilis cards

My collecting goal is simple, keep collecting my players and finish some of the previous sets. I am very much looking forward to see if Topps does anything special now they have the sole license.

Top 100 Lou Gehrig game used cards
Pick up a Pre-War HoF auto
Purchase an actual game used jersey
Complete my modern base set want list
Track down that elusive 2001 SP Legendary Cuts Babe Ruth jersey
Lastly, finish at least one vintage set (1960, 1963, 1968 are probably the closest to completion)

My goals are the same every year!

Get more unique/oddball Mark Brunell items along with filling a couple holes from my needlist.

Technically, I've been stuck on 95% completion for 3-4 years now...perhaps in 2010 I can hit 96%! 1% increase doesn't sound like a big goal, but when the needlist is so limited there's not much left out there for me.

I'll be looking to add 5-10 new hof autos to push into the 160's on them as well as sort/scan what I do have

sort categorize and scan by non hof

finish my 74 and 7 fb sets
finish my 75, 75 mini, 76 and 78 bb sets

Hey guys,
I have a few as well for my 1st full year of TTM (started in August 09):

-Continue working on my autographed 09 SP Legendary Cuts set (7/101)
-Get some more Michael Young IP's (missed him this whole season)
-Get about 200 or so total successes (currently at 71)
-Pad my patch/game-used collection
-Get some more oddball GU cards for the PC (laundry tag, batting helmet , etc.)
-Get my PC up to about 1750-2000 autographs (currently stands at about 1150-1200)
-Have fun
-And...most importantly...watch the Rangers win the World Series! Lol.

I like this thread every year. And my goals are usually similar.

1 - Complete Topps Base and Update sets, including selected insert sets. I will not be doing the gold set this year. That was a one shot deal to celebrate my 40th straight Topps set.

2 - Possibly Complete Topps Heritage, A & G and Heritage Update sets. Not sure if I am going to do these this year or not.

3 - The one I usually fail on every year - GET ORGANIZED

4 - Add to my Red Sox GU and Auto collection. Not going to set specific targets this time around.

1) Complete my Red Sox inventory (Yes...it's still a work in progress)
2) Hit 20,000 different Red Sox cards (current count 18,834)
3) Hit 2500 posts to move up to the next HOF level.

I need to find a Terry Sawchuk certified auto in a wings uni. (I have a auto of every other retired jersey of the wings.)

I have two big wants for the PC. A Ty Cobb auto and a Walter Payton 1998 Topps Stars RC reprint auto. I need to figure out what I am willing to part with to raise the funds.

1. Reach 3,500 different Ripken cards (currently at 3,271).
2. Reach 120 different Ripken GU cards (currently at 99).
3. Reach 20 different Ripken certified auto cards (currently at 15).
4. Complete the 2007 Upper Deck Spectrum Cal Ripken Road to the Hall Gold (#'d/99) set (currently at 93/100).
5. Add 100 new autographs to my all time Orioles autograph collection (currently have 440 different players).
6. Reach 65% on my 1991 Orioles Crown set autograph project (currently at 284/501 - 56.7%).
7. Reach $26,000 total BV for my Ripken collection (currently at $24,499.95).

Derrek Lee - would like to finally hit that 1000 mark, I have been so unorganized with D Lee taht I am not even sure on my current numbers, should be around 700
