Curious about your 2010 collecting goals

I have a few:

1) Boost my haves in 1993 Stadium Club 1st Day Issue FB form 441/550 to 475+/550
2) Complete my 2006 Finest baseball set (current -4 auto RCs)
3) Cut my 1973 & 1978 Topps baseball sets to under 15 each (60 & 35 currently)
4) Knock my 2004 Cracker Jack Mini down to 2 or less and my 2005 CJ Sticker to 10 or less
5) Complete two of my oh so close football parallel sets from the 1990's
6) Get last two cards for my 1976 Star Trek and post my needs in Star Trek CCGs
7) Complete one or both of my 1996 & 1997 Finest baseball sets (need 2 & 6 Gold SPs)
8) Get one or two remaining cards for my 2001 Finest baseball set
9) Knock each of my Superior football auto sets down under 10 (22 from 94, 13 from 95)
10) Substantial progress on 1994, 1995, 1996 Pinnacle Trophy Collection football

Major accomplishments this year:
Completed 2004 Cracker Jack Mini Blue (parallel set)
Completed 1994 Upper Deck Electric baseball (parallel set)
Completed 1997-98 Topps Chrome basketball
Completed 1998 Topps Chrome football
Completed 1972 Topps baseball
Completed 1977 & 1978 Topps football
100+ each toward following parallel sets: 1994 Pinnacle Museum baseball, 1994 Stadium Club 1st Day Issue football, 1994 Collector's Choice Silver football (2nd set), 2005 Cracker Jack Sticker
Major progress in starting and almost finishing 2001 & 2006 Finest baseball, 1998 E-X2001 baseball, 2007 Allen & Ginter, 1973 & 1978 Topps baseball (2nd set)

I guess I have a few as well.

--Get to 200 different GU of Chipper (currently at 159)
--Get to 50 certified autos of Oswalt (currently at 24)
--Get to 200 on my signed 2005 Bowman Heritage set (currently at 176)

Organizational goals:
-- Get all of my commons sorted and organized alphabetical.
-- Get an exact count of my Chippers.
-- Make a spreadsheet of all my IP & TTM autos (over 1,000 cards)
--Scan all of my Braves/LSU alum/Mississippi athletes collection

1) Finish off the 2008 A&G, 2008 & 2009 Heritage baseball. 2008 UD Heroes football. 2007-8 OPC hockey sets. (really want to get these ones done)
2) Get my Expos autograph collection to over 200 different.
3) Get my Montreal Canadiens autograph collection to somewhere between 4-500 different.
4) Hope to have 75 Baseball HOF autographs.
5) Have over 2000 different hockey, 500 different baseball & football autographs. As well as starting a basketball autograph collection.
6) Have 75+ Bench points.
7) Finish off the Habs Inks autograph set, only 6 left out of the 65. This one may not be done since the last SP went for $2800 on eBay and one of the SP have not been found yet.

I didn't do so well with my 2009 collecting goals (or the year in general, for that matter... lol), so here's hoping that 2010 is a much better year.

1. Get to 3600 different Chippers. (Currently at 3210 as of 12/31/09)
2. Complete the 2007 Moments & Milestones Chipper Jones base set ***/150. (Currently at 425/518 as of 12/31/09)
3. Knock off some more of the Chipper Jones base cards that I still am looking for.
4. Get to 100 different Joe Flacco cards. (Currently at 31 as of 12/31/09)
5. Reach 750 trades and 5000 posts to get to the next level of the Bench HOF.
6. Clear out the rest of my older commons. C'mon, yard sale!
7. Attend The National in Baltimore.

1.Complete my Reggie Bush checklist from 2006 - 2008.
2.Reach 500 different Reggie Bush cards.
3.Reach 300 different Drew Brees cards.
4.Reach 50% on my Pierre Thomas collection.
5.Trade or donate all of my common cards.

as well as my Bo Jackson I would like to get it to 400
I am also working Babe Ruth whatever I can get so I would like to see that expand.
I am also working on Jacoby Ellsbury and Josh Hamilton..

I would like to finish off my 2008 Heroes Schmidt rainbow (I need 1 card --- #138 Purple), and my 2008 Heroes Kinsler rainbow (need 2 cards, #175 Lite Blue and Purple).

I would like to obtain my first Ryan Braun auto, and possibly a jersey, just to have one in my collection. I'd love to do the same with Longoria, but both players are just so expensive.

I'd like to get to around 350 Kinsler cards, 1200 Schmidt cards, and I'd like to keep my Schmidt wantlist under 4500. >.<

Knock of some of my baseball set needs.

2010 Heritage definitely as I like the 1961 design. Also A&G though I'm hoping it's the last year for A&G...a little collector fatigue on those.

Well for 2010,I would like to complete my 04 Tops Cracker Jack Game used
sets,pick up a few more cardinal HOF auto's for my pc,and thin out some of my cards and hoping to make one of my biggest trades ever on the BENCH.

Find that bloody stupid 1993 Lime Rock Dominican Winter League Diamond Star card of Bernardo Brito!!!!

Find that last card for my Steve Howard collection (1985 Chong Modesto A's)

Complete my Dave Henderson Collection (sadly, this year, the only cards I added were cards that weren't on my list to start with!)

And add to the list this:
Find that 1994 Chiba Lotte Marines menko of Hensley Meulens, the very last Meulens card known to exist (until I discover some other uncatalogued oddball)

Complete the NTV/UD Hideki Matsui Homerun Collection set (this will be pricey!)

2010 Collecting Goals

1. Get started on a 1970 Topps baseball set by June or so.
2. Complete the 2010 Topps base and Updates & Higlights series.
3. Possibly start a player collection, either Gil Hodges or Carl Furillo.
4. Clean up some of the variation cards I need from Topps sets, especially the 1974 Washington cards. This one is left over from last year.
5. Continue to catalog and scan - atleast make some attempt to get organized.

By the way, I set goals last year on other sites and half of them changed from the last year to now . Sort of interesting to see how collecting interests shifted.

- Finish the 2009 Topps 206 set
- Finish the 09 Topps 206 Piedmont Mini set
- Work on the 2010 A&G & mini set when it comes out
- Buy a couple original 1909 T 206 cards or other vintage that catches my eye
- Work on my Prince Fielder collection
- Work on my Brian McCann collection
- Maybe pick up another Topps set if there is a lull in between the other ones
- Get Organized also (seems Im not the only one)
- Work on Nascar sets as they come out
- Lastly catch up on my Joe Blanton collection

Thanks everyone! This is always a fun and interesting thread. One thing that I do notice is the lack of any interest in any upcoming UD releases. Is this related to the licensing issue, or does everyone just not like UD anymore? For me, it's the licensing issue.
